CLCP (Certified Literate Community Program) – The CLCP program is designed to assist all residents of Laurens County become literate.  We sponsor the CLCP Court Project in Municipal and Magistrate Court.  Through this program we are working with individuals who have not completed high school.  As a part of sentencing, they are required to begin work on a GED.

Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) - This grant through Communities In Schools of Georgia provides three free books to every student enrolled at Hillcrest Pre-K Center, Moore Street Elementary, and East Laurens Primary. 

Americorps Reading Tutorial Program – This program works with children in the after school program and provides reading tutorial to students requiring additional assistance.

VISTA - This program works to recruit mentors for CIS students.

The LOFT Teen Center – this FREE program that provides homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring (if necessary) and rotation classes after homework. Abstinence education and life skills are a focus of this program for students 6th grade or higher and is open Monday through Friday until 6 p.m.  Supplemental Educational Services are also provided at this site.  There is a $25 application fee.

The Communities In Schools Afterschool Program -This program provides homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring (if necessary) and rotation classes after homework of Character Education, Technology, Fitness, and Abstinence Education (for 5th graders only).  A special emphasis this year is CRCT preparation. This program serves Pre-K students through 5th grade and is open Monday through Friday until 6 p.m. There is a $25 application fee as well as a $60 monthly fee for one child and a $40 monthly fee for each additional child.

School based Mentoring Program – Mentors are recruited to work with students referred to the program by school officials and/or parents.  Mentors spend 30 minutes per week with a child offering encouragement and friendship.  This program is offered through a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Georgia.

Abstinence Education Program - The program teaches the benefits of remaining abstinent until marriage to students 6th grade and higher as a part of The LOFT Afterschool Program and is supported by funding provided by South Central Health District.

Performance Learning Center - The PLC is a business-like learning environment for academic innovation where students undertake and complete assignments with assistance from a learning facilitator(s).  Its purpose is to enable students, whose academic success may be threatened, to become successful students who are prepared to move to the next level educationally, vocationally and as citizens of Georgia and to provide another road to graduation for high school students who are not succeeding in the traditional school setting by allowing students to work at their own pace using online, computer-based curriculum.  This is a partnership with the Laurens County Board of Education and began in August 2006.
